Welcome to Dengkil : Pros and Cons!

I have started my second semester in a new place, UiTM Dengkil, Selangor about more or less three weeks ago! Well, everywhere you go, they'll be pros and cons and the same case can be applied to this matter. But everything I listed down here might change in the future so please don't immediately say no to this brand new place, okay?

Lets start with the pros.

What do I like about Dengkil?

1) IOI City Mall Putrajaya

It's just 20 minutes away from UiTM Dengkil and don't worry, there are buses that will take you to IOI for only RM3.00! Back in Lendu, we need to go for half an hour to one hour ride just to reach AEON, which is the nearest shopping complex we can go to. Don't get me wrong, people. I love Lendu as well. There's AEON and Dataran Pahlawan. But in terms of transportation, I might prefer IOI better. If you want to go to IOI via Taxi (metered taxi), it'll cost you around RM25-RM30.

2) Putrajaya Sentral

Near to the bus station. Plus, there's a small bakery selling delicious pie at reasonable price! Yummy.

3) Alamanda Mall

It's been a long time since I've been to Alamanda and honestly, I miss all the memories that I have at there. It's not a glorious mall but it has memories I could never return to, so probably I won't be going there at the moment but it's nearer to UiTM Dengkil compared to IOI.

4) Anjung Dengkil

Back in Lendu, I must say that I was not satisfied at all with the cafe service at my college. There's not a lot of choice of food to pick and the stalls open late at 10:00 a.m. and close early at 9:00 p.m. The prices were kind of unreasonable and not fix. But there's a lot of cafes in Lendu, there's pak lah, western and sunshine cafe which were very nice! In Dengkil, there's only one cafeteria but there's about 14 stalls so there's a lot of choice which meets my expectations and I love it. There's even minimarts on the second level of Anjung Dengkil! Electronic shop, bookstore, barber shop, all up in the second level. How cool is that?!

5) Classes

To go to class from our respective colleges, it is just a walking distance, so near and convenient. There's no 'mountains' and tiring walks. Nope, nothing like that. So near that if you wake up late, that might not be a problem for you to go to class!

Let's move on to the cons:

1) Internet Connection

OH MY GOD, it is so slow, perhaps slower than a snail. The connection here is so bad and honestly I felt so lifeless while I was in UiTM Dengkil. But the moment you go to other places like, let's say, you go to IOI, it's so fast and 'alive'! I don't know what's wrong with the connection in the campus but it sucks so bad that I can't even refresh google homepage. However, right now after they have installed the UiTM- Dengkil wifi, I am a bit satisfied with the speed of the Internet connection. Unfortunately, I couldn't get connected to this Wifi often. Sigh.

2) Lecturers.

Now, now, people. Calm down. It's not that I hate my new lecturers. It's just that since UiTM Dengkil is a new UiTM branch, we are currently short of members. A few of my classes still haven't started yet all because we didn't have enough lecturers to conduct our classes. What freaks me out is the amount of assignments that we'll be doing later on when we finally get our new lecturers. Sigh. What to do. And recently, my favourite lecturer in second semester decides to drop off our class for yet to be explained reason. It really demotivates me since I am always looking forward to his class.

3) No delivery

Now I can't order for KFC, Pizzahut or McD delivery which I think is a huge lost! Cries.

4) Too crowded

Honestly, this might not be a problem to others but for someone like me, it is a big yes. There's too many people; everywhere I go there's always people. I don't have my 'me time', a time where I just want to get away or cut all ties with the human society. I need that to ease my mind and to remind myself who I am and what I am doing here, in this world.

5) Library

I understand that Dengkil is still too new to have a complete and diverse reading materials in their freshly build library but at least, I wish to use the library before the end of my second semester here. Nevertheless, looking at the current state of the library, I bet there'll be close to none reading material by the time I'll leave Dengkil. Sigh.

6) Mass lecture

Honestly, I don't do well with them crowds, being in a social event and being surrounded by a lot of people makes me feel uncomfortable, anxious. So, the idea of mass lecture leaves me no good impression for I fancy being in a quiet and well-organised surrounding. I have several mass lecture each week and I find it hard in terms of understanding what the lecturers were teaching in front and to  take down notes is a pain in the ass. Why? With anymous people sitting and chattering behind you, laughing and whispering, gossiping and dissatisfying-ly questioning the topic that the lecturers' were discussing about, that's a nuisance, really. It's not a good experience for me.

7) Water problem

I'm not sure if my theory is true or false but it seems like almost every night, we will have to face water supply problem. Which means, there'll be no water during night time. It's like they profusely cut off the water supply just to reduce the bills.

I think that's all for now. If there's any improvement or more things to add in the list in the future, I will edit this post. So, that's that! See ya, whoever you are in the future.  Adios.

Banchelor in TESL UKM: First Semester

I decided to update today, a day before I start my second semester. So, semester one is a roller coaster ride for me. It was tough, so many sleepless nights and anxiety thoughts. I enrolled in UKM on week 7, right on the mid-sem of the first semester. I was forced to merge with the 'arus perdana' students of UKM which means I had to catch up with all the seven weeks that I have missed; the seven weeks worth of assignments and the seven weeks worth of lectures. It was insane but I somehow made it. I remember on the first week of my enrolment, I suddenly needed to take a quiz of a subject I barely knew about. Can you imagine yourself having to take a quiz about an alien topic? I had to go through that since there'll be no exceptions or handicap for me even though I was a fresh, new student in Banchelor of TESL. My answers were all nonsense, nothing seems right so when I walked out from the exam hall, there was only one thing on my mind; I am going to fail this for sure. O...

Interview Asasi Tesl 2015

Assalammualaikum to dear readers. I make this blog just to put up my experience in Foundation in Tesl's interview since I realize that this experience is indeed valuable and needed to be shared to the upcoming generations that are interested in taking this course in the future. Like any other bloggers who post out about this particular topic, I'll be doing the same thing- I'll tell you about: 1) Documents needed for the interview 2) Preparations 3) Clothing 4) A place to stay for the night (for those who are going to have their interview in UiTM Pasir Gudang) 5) Writing test and also the holy interview.  I'm not sure if this will help you or not but I do hope that it will help you in someways, tho. So, let's move on. The first thing you need to do once you are being called for the interview is preparing the documents that are requested by UiTM. Print two copies of each documents as a precaution measure. Anything can happen so it's better to be prep...
